About the Role
Are you ready to make a significant impact on the future of STEM education in schools? Are you passionate about education and building trusted relationships with schools and educators? If so, we want to talk to you!
Combine your confidence in creating value through business relationships with your desire to empower students and educators through STEM education. As an Education Business Lead at Nanogirl Labs, you will play a crucial role in creating strong and trusted relationships with schools, ensuring that our innovative products reach as many students as possible. Understanding and empathizing with the school environment and collaborating with teachers, offering solutions with the help of our teaching tools and products.
Our Science in Schools program sits at the intersection of entertainment, education, technology and impact. We have a number of off-the-shelf products including assemblies, teacher professional development and published resources.
This role is about building trusted relationships with schools in New Zealand, driving business results through sales in a way that creates real impact in the classroom. You’ll also be a key part of helping us stay close to what’s happening in schools, maintaining a deep understanding of their current needs.
You’ll work closely alongside the Live Events Operations team who are responsible for delivering our Science in Schools programmes, and with others in the business to help identify opportunities and shape new product development projects.
Requirements
We want someone who can:
Manage inbound leads and proactively nurture new leads with outbound contact.
Drive growth and make sure work is on-track against business targets.
Understand schools and educators’ needs and who is able to work within those structures. You’ll be confident being the first point of contact for schools, and (once trained) able to deliver short product demonstrations to teachers online.
Communicate brilliantly. Whether in person, online, on the phone or in writing, you communicate professionally and with heart—you can clearly persuade, build support, set expectations and negotiate. You care about people, and they feel that as you communicate with them.
Be adaptable and take on various support tasks when needed. You’ll need to be a quick learner and enjoy the idea of a challenge—some projects come through quickly and become resource-intensive, meaning all hands on board.
These are things we think you’ll need to be successful in this role:
Self-motivated, with the ambition to achieve results
You are kind and fit in well with our operating style and values
Super organised, with a systematic approach to work
Able to communicate well and be willing to listen and learn
Driven and love making things happen
Calm under pressure and comfortable with change
Skilled on the computer—adept with word processing and advanced spreadsheets, comfortable working in cloud apps like Google Drive
